An immigrant worker from Andhra Pradesh working in Kuwait flew to his native place and murdered his relative for allegedly sexually abusing his minor daughter, said the police on Thursday.
Anjaneya Prasad, 35, arrived from Kuwait recently and beat his physically challenged relative P Anjaneyulu (59) to death with an iron rod for allegedly sexually abusing his daughter, said Rajampet sub-divisional police officer N Sudhakar, reported PTI.
Prasad came to India in the first week of December and killed Anjaneyulu in the intervening night of December 6 and 7 when the latter was sleeping outside his home, the police officer said.
The immigrant worker and his wife, Chandrakala, worked in Kuwait as a driver and cook for several years, Inspector P Mahesh told the Indian Express. Their 12-year-old daughter stayed with Chandrakala's sister Lakshmi and her husband Venkataramana. The accused was Venkataramana's father, according to India Today.

The girl is admitted to a residential school but often visits her aunt's house in the village. She was staying in the house recently for some days, the inspector said.
According to Mahesh, Chandrakala learned of the alleged misconduct while the couple's daughter was staying with the relatives. She alleged that the victim was “touching her daughter inappropriately”. She filed a complaint at the Obulavaripalli police station, but according to the family, the police only issued a warning to Anjaneyulu.
Meanwhile, inspector Mahesh said the elderly man was called and questioned before letting him go because it was found that he and the girl were never alone. "His daughter-in-law claims the child always slept with her in a different room while the old man slept outside," the inspector said.
After the murder, Prasad returned to Kuwait and released a video message, confessing to having committed the crime as the police allegedly failed to take action over his daughter's complaint, Sudhakar said.
A case of murder has been booked against Prasad and the police are on the lookout for his arrest.
