Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has officially inaugurated the resumption of development projects for Amaravati, the state's capital city, at a ceremony in Rayapudi. The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) will spearhead the projects which have an initial allocation of Rs 160 crore. A key highlight of the development includes the construction of a seven-story office complex.
During the event, Chief Minister Naidu performed ceremonial rituals before launching the projects. He emphasized the significance of the blueprint for Amaravati and expressed optimism about executing and enhancing the capital’s development plan.
"There is an excellent blueprint, and now we need to execute it while improving further," Naidu remarked. He highlighted the crucial role that farmers played in the city's development, saying, "Without farmers, you cannot build this type of city, which we have done."
Naidu also stressed the importance of adopting global best practices to ensure Amaravati becomes a model city. He added, "Ultimately, this is the city that will bring pride to the nation. Amaravati is not just a state capital, but a symbol of national pride."
With the CRDA resuming operations and the allocation of substantial funds, Amaravati's development is set to progress significantly, aiming to meet global standards and cement its place as a model capital city for India.
Earlier, former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy who was in favour of the idea of a three capital system kept Amaravati development on the back-burner.
