In a shocking breach of security, two armed men carried out a daring daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in the Brij Vihar locality of Ghaziabad — an area adjacent to Delhi and considered a high-security zone. The robbers fled with nearly 20 kilograms of silver and 100 grams of gold, leaving the local police under intense scrutiny.

Robbery Executed at Gunpoint

According to eyewitnesses and the shop owner, the two men entered the store posing as customers before brandishing firearms and threatening the staff. They quickly seized the precious metals and escaped before anyone could react.

Incident Near Police Outpost Raises Questions

What makes the incident even more alarming is its proximity to law enforcement — the shop is located just 200 meters from the nearest police outpost, yet no immediate response was triggered. Senior police officials rushed to the spot after the incident and launched an investigation.

Official Statement from Police

Addressing the media, DCP Nimish Patil said: “A case has been formally registered, and a dedicated team of six police officers has been constituted to investigate the matter. We are thoroughly examining all leads, including CCTV footage. Action will be swift, and the accused will be arrested at the earliest.”

CCTV Footage Under Review

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in and around the jewellery shop. Authorities are reviewing the footage to identify the culprits, while police claim they are exploring all possible angles.

Security Concerns in High-Security Brij Vihar

The robbery has sparked serious questions about security arrangements in Brij Vihar — a locality considered high-tech and well-monitored — where criminals managed to pull off a bold heist in broad daylight and escape unchallenged.
