An 11-year-old boy died in Bengaluru when the gate of a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) ground collapsed on him. According to ANI, the incident occurred around 4 pm on Sunday, at the Malleswaram ground, which the boy visited to play. 






Saidulu Adavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North Division, Bengaluru City, told ANI that the Malleswaram Police had visited the site to conduct an investigation.


According to The Indian Express, the deceased has been identified as Niranjan, 11, a resident of the Vivekananda Block slum, Dattatreya Temple Street, in PG Halli. As per the report, the police said that when Niranjan tried to pull the main gate, it fell on him. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to KC General Hospital by local residents. But he died of excessive blood loss.


A class 5 student at a government high school, Niranjan often visited the ground to play with his friends, especially on holidays. The initial investigation has revealed that the hinges of the gate were rusty. 


Noida Boy Killed After Iron Bar Falls On Him


In August, a 13-year-old died after an iron bar from an under-construction house fell on his head in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. 


An FIR was registered under relevant sections against the landlord, Gaurav Sharma, and his uncle Devdutt Sharma on the complaint of the boy’s father Rajesh Rai, according to a PTI report. The charges invoked include those under sections 106 (1) (death due to negligence) and 290 (negligence during construction or repair of a building) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.


The incident happened on August 23 around 5 pm when Rohit, whose family is from Bihar’s Buxar, was passing by the under-construction house near Nagar Dairy ahead of Balwant Chowk. The boy was rushed to Noida District Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
