India has sent a contingent of 117 members for the Olympics, including 70 male athletes and 47 female athletes. They will be participating in 16 sports altogether.

Notably, Nita Ambani was recently re-elected unanimously as the member of the IOC from India. The decision was announced earlier at the 142nd IOC Session in Paris this week.

She was first appointed to the IOC during the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016. Ever since, she has emerged as a strong advocate for the sporting ambitions of the country. After her re-election, Nita Ambani expressed that she was honoured to become a part of the IOC again.

“I would like to thank President Bach and all my colleagues in the IOC for their faith and trust in me. This re-election is not just a personal milestone but also a recognition of India's growing influence in the global sporting arena. I share this moment of joy and pride with every Indian and look forward to continuing our efforts to strengthen the Olympic Movement in India and around the world,” Nita Ambani said following her re-election.

The Reliance Foundation in partnership with the Indian Olympic Association (IOC) hosted the first-ever India House at the Paris Olympics 2024 this year.
