The Election Commission of India announced on October 15, 2024, that voting for the 288-seat Maharashtra Legislative Assembly would take place in a single phase. A total of 4,136 candidates are in the fray. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 23, 2024.

After November 20, the next market holiday will be on December 25, 2024, for Christmas. This will be the final stock market holiday for the year.

The Indian stock market operates Monday to Friday, with trading hours from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM, and a pre-open session from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM. Markets remain closed on weekends.
Commodity Market Schedule for November 20
Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX): Closed for the morning session (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), but the evening session will be open from 5:00 PM to 11:55 PM (till 9:00 PM for select agri commodities).
National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX): Fully closed for the day.
Contracts set to expire on November 20 will now settle on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
