New Delhi: Three years after disrupting the Indian wireless phone market with free calls and 4G internet, billionaire Mukesh Ambani is once again back to revolutionise the traditional television consumption process across the masses in the country. According to reports, Reliance Group-owned telco Reliance Jio is set to launch its fiber-to-the-home service 'Jio Fiber' across the country today. The JioFiber will be accompanied a bunch of services including a 'free' 4K television set, a fixed-line phone service, a gaming-capable set-top-box and Jio Internet of Things (IoT).

The announcement to roll out the disruptive broadband initiative by Ambani was made during the recent RIL's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held last month. As Reliance Jio turns three years today, it has launched plans starting at Rs 699 a month with speeds capped at 100 Mbp and 100 GB data. Jio will also be offering 50 GB extra data, meaning you get a total of 150 GB data. The subscription plan goes up to Rs 8,499 per month with access to broadband, fixed line connection Jio HomeTV and Jio's IoT.

Expectations are widely high as experts believe that the increased competition in broadband sector will lead to price wars among the telcos which will eventually benefit the customers. As off now, there are four major broadband players in India (Airtel Broadband, ACT Fibernet Broadband, Tata Sky Broadband and Hathway Broadband) and Reliance JioFiber will be the fifth one to enter the space.

From subscription process, to monthly/ annually plans and other offers, here's all you need to know about Ambani's Jio Fiber launch:
