New Delhi: Low-cost airline IndiGo has launched its ‘Vaxi Fare’ scheme for all vaccinated passengers in its domestic flights.

The ‘Vaxi Fare’ scheme can be availed by the fliers and they can get a discount of 10 per cent on the base fare.

The new scheme has been planned to boost the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the country and encourage fliers to travel again.

Indigo, the largest airline in the country in terms of market share for passengers, reintroduced the Vaxi Fare scheme through a tweet on Wednesday.

According to IndiGo, passengers who have availed of the offer at the time of booking shall be needed to furnish a valid Covid-19 vaccination certificate issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, or display their vaccination status on the Aarogya Setu mobile application, at the airport check-in counter/boarding gate.

If the passengers fail to show the vaccination certificate, they shall be required to immediately pay to IndiGo the then prevailing full fare for the relevant sector to avoid being denied boarding.

According to reports, the airline has said that the scheme is applicable to one-way, round-trip, and multi-city flights for domestic travel on select fare types. However, the offer is not valid for IndiGo’s group bookings.

The company had first introduced the offer in August last year to encourage fliers to travel after the second wave of Covid-19 in India had subsided.
