Data analytics remains in high demand professionally. A senior executive at Google recently shared that jobs in this field can get individuals six-figure salaries without even completing a traditional college degree.


Lisa Gevelber, Vice President Google said that the field of data analytics is full of opportunities for individuals willing to upskill through certifications and online training. “The demand for people who understand data and can use it to guide important business decisions is huge,” Gevelber said, reported Moneycontrol.


The founder of the Grow With Google program pointed out that data analysts play a crucial role in shaping business strategies by looking into raw data to find trends and create actionable insights.


These professionals analyse tools such as Tableau, SQL, and Excel to analyse metrics like sales performance and website traffic. These help companies operate in a more efficient manner.


A report by CNBC Make It said that data analytics emerged as one of the most sought-after skills in 2024, pointing out its importance across industries. The Bureau of Labor Statistics in the US estimated that data analytics and science jobs will grow by more than 30 per cent in the next ten years. This growth rate stands three times faster than the average job growth rate.


Typically, traditional degrees line up the way to secure high paying jobs, however, the data analytics field is beating the trend. Many firms are now bringing on candidates with high school diplomas or GEDs who have finished their certification programs.

These certification programs are being provided by several tech firms such as Google, IBM, CompTIA, etc. The Grow With Google initiative provide a data analytics certification which helps skill individuals in coding, working with spreadsheets, visualing data, etc. “The versatility of data analytics means that it doesn’t matter where you live or what industry you work in,” the executive said.
