New Delhi: The Indian business tycoon, Gautam Adani has entered the exclusive list of people who have their fortune crossed the $100 billion mark, reports Bloomberg. With a jump of $24 billion this year, he’s the world’s biggest gainer and shares the elite club with nine other members. 


Heading one of India’s largest conglomerates which includes ports, mines, and green energy first made a fortune in the coal industry and has amassed almost all of his wealth in the past two years as he shifted to green energy and infrastructure that yielded him investments from companies like France’s Total SE and Warburg Pincus. 


His upcoming plans include exploring potential partnerships with Saudi Arabia, including the possibility of buying a stake in the world’s largest oil exporter, the Bloomberg report stated, quoting people familiar with the matter.

Some Adani group stocks have witnessed a surge of more than 1000% since 2020 after he turned his focus on expanding in the areas deemed important by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in nation-building and meeting the country's long term economic goals. 


Adani’s Indian counterpart Mukesh Ambani who had his net worth crossed that benchmark in October has now slightly slid down below $99 billion according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index. 


Amazon.com Inc head Jeff Bezos was the first person to enter the elite club in 2017 followed by Tesla’s Elon Musk who entered the club in 2020 with a fortune of $273 billion.
