New Delhi: Tesla Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and SpaceX Founder Elon Musk in his latest tweet has fuelled fresh speculation about his proposal to acquire 100 per cent in Twitter and take it private from public.
According to the report in Bloomberg, the 50-year-old billionaire has tweeted a cryptic message with blank space for a word followed by the phrase “is the Night”, which has raised the theory that he would launch a tender offer for Twitter Inc. shares in the event that the board resists.
It has been seen as the missing language might be “Tender,” as per the F Scott Fitzgerald book title, or it could be “Tonight,” according to Musk who used seven underscores for the blank space.
Musk’s style of tweeting
If a user keenly follows Musk’s style of tweeting, he would be able to know that the Tesla CEO usually expresses himself through web memes and implications, having previously tweeted “seize the memes of production” in the time between his initial investment in Twitter and the SEC filing that made it public.
In previous instances, Musk has shown his liking for 420 references to pot smoking, which includes his offer to acquire the micro-blogging site for $54.20 a share.
According to the report, earlier Musk had posted a tweet with “Love Me Tender,” bracketed by musical notes.
The share price of Twitter zoomed 27 per cent when Elon Musk announced that he had acquired a 9.2 per cent stake in it at the start of this month.
The Tesla CEO has been completely outspoken about changes he’d like to see in the platform. Musk, who has over 8 crore followers on Twitter since joining in 2009, prolifically uses the platform, and made several announcements.
