New Delhi: After almost 11 days of bank holidays in May, the banks will remain closed for another eight days in June, according to the list released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Also, note that out of these, two holidays are listed under the Holidays Under Negotiable Instruments Act, while the remaining six days fall over the weekend including Sundays and the second and fourth Saturday. It is important to note that even as banks may remain shut for certain days next month, online banking services will be available on these days as per usual business days.


In case you need to visit the branch for some urgent work, it is advised that you check if the banks are operational for the below-mentioned dates with the branch to avoid any inconvenience.

Check dates when banks will remain shut in June


On June 2 (Thursday), branches of all banks including the public sector, private sector, foreign banks, cooperative banks, and regional banks will be closed in Shillong on the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti.


On June 15 (Wednesday), banks will remain closed in Aizawl, Bhubaneshwar, Jammu, and Srinagar will be closed to mark YMA Day/Guru Hargobind Ji's Birthday/Raja Sankranti.


Apart from these two days mentioned above, banks will be closed on June 5, 11, 12, 19, 25, and 26 on account of second and fourth Saturdays, and Sundays.

The RBI has categorised the bank holidays as national and regional under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. Some of the holidays are region specific and may differ from state to state and from bank to bank.
