He successfully performed the first-ever Percutaneous Aortic Valve Implantation without surgery and the first-ever percutaneous mitral valve repair procedure. These breakthroughs hold immense significance as India has the highest number of valvular cases worldwide.
He has also pioneered the use of advanced technologies in cardiac interventions. He was the first to implement the angio jet thrombectomy device, which effectively removes blood clots, improving patient outcomes. He also initiated the percutaneous myocardial laser vascularisation programme in Asia, a groundbreaking technique for enhancing blood flow in the heart. He pioneered the use of FFR (Fractional Flow Reserve) and bio-absorbable stents in India, revolutionising angioplasty procedures.
