Why Arunachal Pradesh Needs Freedom Of Religion Act To Protect Indigenous Faiths

A few days ago, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu announced that the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act (APFRA) will soon have its rules framed and implemented in the state. The act was passed in 1978 by the Janata Party government led by PK Thungon. It prohibits religious conversion by force, inducement, or fraudulent means and includes provisions for imprisonment of up to two years.
