In Maharashtra's political corridor, everybody was sure that Ajit Pawar was going to defect from the NCP sooner or later. He proved them right by rebelling from the party and joining the Shiv Sena-BJP government as a deputy chief minister. Now, everyone is pondering over the causes of Ajit Pawar's rebellion. No doubt, he was overtly ambitious, but ambition can only be the secondary cause behind his bold step. It was the fear of being incarcerated, it is believed, that drove him to become a
