Opinion | Decoding BJP’s Grand Assam Show This Lok Sabha Election As Two State Leaders Enter Modi Govt 3.0

In the northeastern state of Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) registered a spectacular victory in the Lok Sabha Election 2024. It won 11 of the state’s 14 seats — a gain of two seats over 2019. The vote share of the NDA is pegged at 46.32% — a marginal loss of 0.46 percentage points. However, the NDA’s vote share is 1.81 percentage points higher than in the last assembly elections.  The other constituents of the BJP-led NDA in
