The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Kunkuri MLA Vishnu Deo Sai as its Chief Minister for Chhattisgarh as the party attempts to strengthen its tribal outreach over the next six months ahead of the 2024 general election. A four-time MP, former state BJP president and Union minister, Sai hails from the Scheduled Tribe community, which has backed the BJP in large numbers not only in Chhattisgarh but also in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
