Scooters are not just for commuting, they are also for fun and style as shown by these two max-scooters. These are premium, feature-packed and stylish scooters with also good performance. These then are desirable scooters for those who want more than just maintenance or efficiency but also the convenience of one. Here, we have two desirable scooters and we tell you which one is better.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 is longer but the Aprilia SXR 160 is wider while the Aprilia also has more ground clearance. We think the Aerox looks sleeker and more like a motorcycle- especially from the rear along with sportier looks. The Aprilia is more premium and comes with a more 'maxi-scooter' look. The seat is larger and also the screen with a clear practical look to it.

In terms of features, both offer you a decent number of them with their premium price-tags hence LED headlamps, USB charging ports, and modern digital instrument clusters are also there along with smartphone connectivity. The Yamaha Aerox 155 has a slight edge though and comes with additional features like start/stop system or even a keyless entry. The Yamaha also provides slightly better under-seat storage at 25l vs 21l in the Aprilia.

Aprilia SXR 160

These two scooters do not have small engines only built for commuting hence both of them are in the 160cc class with a good amount of power for quick performance or even cruising. Here despite having a larger displacement engine at 160cc, the power figure is 10.9 PS which is less than the 14.9PS of the Yamaha despite a 155.1cc engine.

The Yamaha also has more torque. In real world performance terms, the Yamaha Aerox 155 feels quicker and more energetic while the Aprilia is a bit easier to ride plus relaxed. The Yamaha is the sportier one here for sure. Both will also do decent efficiency but the Yamaha which is the more efficient one here with a figure above 40kmpl. Both scooters are priced within close distance of each other at Rs 1.3 lakh ex-showroom with the Aprilia being priced slightly lower along with a longer warranty.

In the end, the Yamaha has more features and performance/efficiency while the Aprilia has more practicality along with being a bit more comfortable. The choice is yours but these two are desirable maxi scooters with enough style for sure.
