Audio systems have taken more importance over the years but it is the first time that a carmaker has made a special edition around it. The Taigun and Virtus Sound edition gets a specially-tuned audio system which includes a sub-woofer and amplifier. These are based on the Topline variants of the Taigun and Virtus with the 1.0l TSI turbo petrol engine which means the gearbox options available with the Sound edition includes a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Other new features have also been added like a Sound Edition badge, graphics plus added features like Electric Front Seats, Puddle Lamps and Footwell Illumination. With dual electric seats, the Taigun and Virtus are perhaps the only cars in its class to get this feature. If we talk about the colour options, the Taigun and Virtus Sound editions come with Lava Blue, Carbon Steel Grey, Wild Cherry Red and Rising Blue colours.
Further on, buyers get a dual tone colour scheme with a white roof and white ORVM caps which is available only on the Volkswagen Taigun Sound Edition. The Sound Edition comes with a price-tag of INR 16.32 Lacs (ex-showroom India) starting for Taigun and INR 15.51 Lacs (ex-showroom India) for the Virtus. There are no changes to the powertrain or the gearbox options as instead it is based on improving the sound experience with these two cars.
Volkswagen has been constantly updating their Taigun and Virtus with new updates including the 1.5 TSI manual in the Virtus and a more off-road focussed special edition of the Taigun amongst others.
