German giant auto giant Volkswagen launched its much awaited SUV Taigun in the Indian markets today. This car has been launched by the company at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh. This 'Made in India' car is equipped with more than 35 safety features. Taigun SUV, based on German technology, is being manufactured at a plant in Pune. Let's check out its price and features.

  • The Comfortline Manual variant is priced at Rs. 10,49,900.

  • The Highline Manual variant is priced at Rs. 12,79,000.

Best-in-class Design:


Volkswagen Taigun MQB A0 is the first product in the IN platform to come with skid plate and has more cladding on sides and wheel arch, roof rails, LED headlamps and LED DRL, Sporty Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels. The rear side of the design has a large LED light bar with LED taillights. The paint of the car is simply mesmerising.


Features:


The cabin gets dual tone black and gray color combination and a 10-inch infotainment display at the center stage. The Taigun also gets ventilated front seats, Electric Sunroof, LED Headlamps, Climate Control and Type-C USB port. The SUV also comes with multiple storage pockets, central armrest and two-tone fabric and faux leather upholstery.



Powerful Engine:
Taigun has been introduced with two turbocharged petrol engine options, a 1-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI. The second engine option is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder Turbo Petrol engine which will generate a maximum power of 150 PS and peak torque of 250 Nm. Both engines are available with a 6-speed manual transmission. A torque converter automatic transmission is also available for 1L engine variant. In short, this SUV is available in 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG transmission variants.


In Competition With:


Volkswagen Taigun would rival Skoda Kushaq in India. The rivalry has more to do with sunroof, ventilated seats and connected car technology. Skoda Kushaq also features Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Valet Mode, Ambient Light, Cooled Glovebox, USB Type C port, Six Airbags, Rear View Camera, ESC and more. The Kushaq is powered by two petrol engine variants, with a 1.0-litre TSI engine mated with a 6-speed manual or automatic, churning out 115 bhp. The Kushaq also gets the more powerful 1.5-lire TSI engine which gives out 150bhp, also available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.
