Volkswagen has revealed new variants of its Taigun and Virtus cars with the intention being to spread the appeal further with these variants. The Virtus for one gets a manual transmission with the 1.5 TSI which was not available earlier as only the DSG automatic was there. Now the Virtus will get a new 1.5 TSI MT variant with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will be offered in GT and GT Plus trims with the same styling details as seen on the cars. There is also a new colour with being called Lava Blue while the Virtus also has a special edition paint scheme with Deep Black Pearl paint.
Over to the Taigun SUV and here too new trims have been added. While the engine options continue to remain the 1.0 TSI and a 1.5 TSI now there is a new 1.5 GT Plus with a manual trim with more features. Earlier only the DSG variant was available with the top-end trim as now there is a manual too. Then there is the GT Edge which brings Deep Black Pearl paint and Carbon Matte steel colours. Of course, there is also the Lava Blue shade now available.
There is also the off-road styles Trail concept with a roof rack and black alloys plus graphics. These new variants will be launched in June 2023 and widens the reach of these products.
The focus of the new trims has been on the 1.5 TSI and to make it more accessible plus more appealing while the Taigun gets a hint of off-road appeal now as well with the new special editions.
