Its 2016 and pre-bookings for the Model 3 in India received a rapturous response and that started the wait for Tesla in India. Currently, the third-largest automobile market, India has steadily climbed in importance for new carmakers so much so that a few remaining ones are making a beeline for India. Even though currently, the electric car penetration stands at a small number but the coming years present a big opportunity but interestingly, the luxury segment has taken to EVs with open arms.
