New Delhi: Tata Motors has launched the more powerful and efficient Nexon EV Max in India. This is the new top-end variant and the regular Nexon EV will continue to be sold also.
The Nexon EV is currently the best selling EV in India and the Nexon EV has already sold 19,000 units with over 9,000 EVs sold by Tata. The Nexon EV Max electric gets a more powerful 40.5 kWh battery pack while importantly the range is now much higher at 437km with being ARAI certified.
The power output is now increased to 143 bhp and 253 Nm. 0-100 km/h in under 9 seconds. In comparison, the standard Nexon EV gets a 312 km range and a smaller battery pack. The Nexon EV Max would be available with two variants: XZ+ and XZ+ Lux variants.
There are options of a new 7.2 kW AC fast charger (also a 3.3 kW charger) plus it is also compatible with DC fast charging which can be charged within 56 minutes for an 80 percent charge. There are new features being added like a multi-mode regenerative braking function plus added features like an electronic parking brake with auto hold, air purifier, new interior upholstery with ventilated seats, cruise control, all four disc brakes, etc.
Nexon EV Max also gets 3 driving modes – eco, city, and sport and has eight new features on the upgraded ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology.
Despite the increase in battery pack size, the boot space has not changed at all at 350 liters. Prices start at Rs 17.74 lakh while the 7.2 kW AC fast charger equipped version is priced at Rs 18.24 lakh. The Lux pack equipped Nexon EV Max has been priced at Rs 19.24 lakh. It will come in 3 colours– Intense-Teal (only for the Nexon EV MAX), Daytona Grey, and Pristine White. Dual-tone body colour will be offered as a standard.
