The Enfield Hunter 350cc has been revealed and it is a new type of RE but also one that enters into a crowded space with many rivals including the just launched Ronin from TVS and the Jawa Forty Two. Here's a quick comparison.
Which Is More Powerful?
The Hunter gets the same 350cc engine as its Enfield siblings and here it makes 20.2 bhp and 27Nm with a 5-speed gearbox. There is not much difference with the Ronin in terms of power as the TVS develops 20.1bhp and 19.93Nm with also a 5-speed gearbox. The Jawa makes more power at 27bhp though and even gets a 6-speed gearbox as the other two have a 5-speed one.
Dimensions
The Hunter 350 is less heavy than its RE cousins at 181kg but still comes across as the heaviest as the Ronin is the lightest at 160kg with the Java coming in between at 171kg. The Ronin also has more ground clearance at 181mm vs the 150mm of the Hunter 350. In terms of fuel tank capacity, the Hunter 350 does trail the other two at 13 vs 14 litres. In terms of mileage, all three can be expected to give between 35-40 kmpl.
Which Is Better Value?
The Hunter 350 comes with an attractive design but with a features list which includes the optional Tripper navigation system, it is not as well equipped as the TVS Ronin which comes with features like full LED lighting, a USD front fork and a smartphone access. The Jawa also cannot match the Hunter or the Ronin in terms of features.
The TVS Ronin remains the most affordable bike here at Rs 1.7 lakh for the top-end while the Jawa has priced at Rs 1.9 lakh for the top-end too. The Enfield Hunter 350 has to be priced competitively and would be priced somewhere between the two.
