Jeep globally has rolled out the first teaser for the all new generation Jeep Compass and this is based on its STLA Medium platform. The production of this new Jeep will begin in 2025 with production in Melfi, Italy. Global launch is slated for 2026 and the big question is whether it is coming to India.

We have been given a teaser and it looks bigger now which hints at the fact that the new Compass would be much bigger along with having a lot more space. You can see the typical Jeep styling with the broad shoulders plus the wraparound glasshouse but the square wheel arches remain.

The third generation Jeep Compass will also be the first Jeep built on the new STLA Medium platform which brings in more flexibility regarding powertrains.

This means that the new Compass will be hybrid, electric and of course get gasoline engines as well. It will be having all wheel drive too which is central to the Jeep DNA. Hence, there would be mild hybrid petrols too as well as diesel while there could be a dual motor electric variant as well.

The current gen Jeep Compass is built in four factories including India but it remains to be seen if this new Compass would make its way here due to the localisation of the new platform plus the cost given the new Compass would be much more luxurious. Given the high cost of making the new Compass it may not come here but it remains to be seen if Jeep indeed works the economics and builds the new Compass here. The Compass has been around for a long time in India and this new version will bring in more buyers hence we think India should get this new Compass here.
