New Delhi: Finally, deliveries of the new Range Rover have started in India with the flagship SUV being one of the most awaited luxury cars. This is the new generation model which is based on the MLA-Flex body architecture while you can order Standard and Long Wheelbase versions via four, five or seven-seater configurations. There is also a big choice with engines with three powertrains 3.0 l diesel, 3.0 l petrol and 4.4 l petrol.
The fifth generation Range Rover gets an all new design and a new interior with different upholstery choices apart from leather like textiles and wool blended ones. Inside, there is a new 13.1- inch curved, floating screen along with a new13.7-inch Interactive Driver Display.
Some of the other highlights include power assist doors, a 35 speaker audio system, rear axle steering, Terrain Response 2 system and independent air suspension. The variants are divided into SE, HSE, Autobiography and the First Edition.
Prices start at Rs 2.38 cr while first edition models along with LWD Autobiography models are around Rs 3.3 cr. The new Range Rover has been one of the most popular SUVs in the super luxury space with the new generation pushing it further towards a luxury car fit to rival Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
The external design especially stays faithful to the original Range Rover although the shutlines have been removed in many places for a cleaner look plus the design has a sleek new theme. The rear styling too gets vertical tail-lamps with a gloss black panel and are hidden unless lit. There is also a split tailgate. The First edition would be available throughout the first year being based on the Autobiography trim.
