Jeep is readying its next SUV for the Indian market and after the Meridian, it is the iconic Grand Cherokee luxury SUV to come to India. Jeep India has announced that it will launch the new generation Grand Cherokee in the Indian market by November. This is the 5th generation of the Grand Cherokee and it will be made in India as well with being the 4th Jeep nameplate to get the made in India status. Jeep has also revealed that the new Grand Cherokee will debut with ADAS features plus connected features and more.

The Grand Cherokee would be the flagship SUV to be positioned above the Wrangler and the Meridian.

The flagship Jeep SUV will come with a petrol engine and will have a 5-seater lay-out for our market. What is really interesting is that the India spec would be fully loaded including having three displays- even with one for the passenger! Then it will get a full glass panoramic roof, head-up display, ADAS as mentioned before and more including a premium audio system.

Of course, being a Jeep, the new Grand Cherokee will come with the four-wheel drive system including various terrain modes.

The luxury SUV will have an 8-speed automatic as standard along with four-wheel drive while the styling is pure Jeep as well with a lot of muscle. Compared to the previous generation Grand Cherokee, the new one has a new architecture plus having more interior space including additional cargo room too. With deliveries expected to begin shortly after launch, the new Grand Cherokee will compete with a lot of SUVs in the luxury class including the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the BMW X5 plus the Audi Q7 too.

Globally there is a 7-seater version too but India will get the 5-seater variant which has the need of buyers in this class. Jeep will be bringing back this luxury SUV in a new form and we will have more details leading up to its launch next month.
