New Delhi: SUVs normally come with diesel engines and that too with high torque outputs to pull all that weight. Here is probably one of the biggest diesel engines fitted to an SUV in India and it has just been launched.

Meet the BMW X7 M50d and it is an X7 but with a massively powerful 2993 cc three-litre six-cylinder diesel engine which produces an output of 400 hp and a maximum torque of 760 Nm.

That means this huge SUV can reach 0 -100 km/hr in just 5.4 seconds. Also for a diesel engine, this SUV comes with an M Sport exhaust system.

The gearbox is an eight-speed automatic while there are several changes to the suspension which is an air suspension along with more technologies to make it sportier.

Keep in mind the X7 is larger and is heavier than the X5 along with being the biggest BMW SUV hence the performance figures are surprising indeed.

However, what is most special about the Dark Edition is the BMW Individual paint finish in Frozen Arctic Grey metallic.

This new colour gives the X7 more presence and makes it stand out from the crowd. Also new are the 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with a Jet-Black matt finish and fitted with mixed tyres.

There is of course a lot of luxury features on board with a six-seater configuration with captain seats which are adjustable electrically plus seat ventilation, black leather, panoramic sunroof, five-zone air conditioning, soft close doors, glass gear selector, 16 speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound audio system, 12.3-inch Control Display and more.

The BMW X7 M50d ‘Dark Shadow’ Edition is built in limited numbers with only 500 produced worldwide while in India it is available for order only via online.

A fast and luxurious BMW SUV and a price tag to match since it costs INR 2,02,00,000 being fully imported, which makes it the most expensive BMW SUVs in India.
