The S-Class has always been regarded as one of the top luxury cars and also one of the most complicated cars ever in terms of sheer technology that it has or even the features. Our S-Class review showed how Mercedes has put in so much technology in the new generation model.

We had driven the CBU version earlier which was sold out in a short time, and now Mercedes is bringing back the S-Class but this time, making it in India!

Price Reduction

Mercedes-Benz has decided to start local production of its flagship model along with also massively reducing the price. The price is now ₹1.57 crores for S 350 d and ₹1.62 crores for S 450 4MATIC. The reduction in price is due to the car being assembled and not attracting a massive import duty.

Also, Mercedes has taken this opportunity to introduce new features like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as Active Brake Assist, Pre-Safe Plus, Pre-Safe Impulse Side, Active Parking Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Steering Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Active Distance Assist Distronic and Attention Assist.

Other Features

The S-Class continues to have many of the CBU version's features like the digital lamps, the massive touchscreen which controls all functions and more. Other notable features include the latest MBUX infotainment screen including fingerprint recognition, Burmester 3D Surround Sound system, Rear Screen Entertainment System, rear massage seats, electrically extendable door handles, rear tablet for controlling the MBUX infotainment system, leather upholstery in three shades, front seat kinetics, 64 colour ambient lighting etc. The engine line-up now has six-cylinder diesel and petrol powertrains.
