New Delhi: The upcoming new generation Innova Hycross Hybrid is all set to get a Maruti variant as seen with several of their new cars. That said, like the Grand Vitara and the Hyryder, the Maruti version of the Innova Hycross would be different in design with many changes. However, like the recent launches, the Innova Hycross would be coming in first and that would be followed by the Maruti version.

The Maruti version would be their most premium MPV and would be placed above the XL6 while being sold via Nexa sales channels. Both cars will share the platform and the hybrid along with a petrol engine powertrain. Plus Maruti's version will come in much later after the Innova Hycross.

Toyota and Maruti are bullish on hybrid tech in India and see it as a solution in the immediate future. The new Innova Hycross would be longer than the current Innova and will also get a lot of features that are not present in the current version.

The new platform will also mean more space inside, along with being more comfortable. The more substantial feature is the rear seat which would be a lot more luxurious and will get seating similar to the Vellfire luxury MPV if not the same.

While the Maruti version could be available in different powertrains including another petrol engine, the Innova Hycross is expected to be launched with a hybrid powertrain only but not the one found in the Hyryder as this time, it would be a bigger 2.0l unit.

The new Innova would be sold alongside the current Crysta and the Maruti version would be their most expensive car in India after the Grand Vitara. Maruti recently launched the Grand Vitara and is expected to launch many more cars including the Jimny in the months to come.
