New Delhi: This is not a straightforward comparison but bringing together two of the newest Maruti Suzuki SUVs to clear any doubts regarding these two. Both the Brezza and the Grand Vitara are based on the same platform but are positioned differently, which we will explain.

The Brezza is under 4m in length, is smaller and cheaper than the Grand Vitara which is above 4m and is the premium compact SUV. The Brezza is also sold via the Arena dealerships while the Grand Vitara is sold via Nexa dealerships.

Design-wise, both have a different look to appeal to different sets of buyers. The Brezza is younger, and more aggressive while the Grand Vitara is premium. The Grand Vitara uses a chrome-rich grille too and slimmer tail lamps plus a split headlamp treatment. The Brezza has the more upright proportions.

Inside, both are premium cabins in their own right with the Brezza in top-end form getting a brown/black upholstery with silver bits too. A sporty steering wheel is also there while it gets analogue dials. The Grand Vitara has a richer look with more plush materials including the dashboard along with more silver accents. The hybrid version uses a fully digital instrument cluster too.

Both SUVs get the latest Maruti infotainment system with a 9-inch touchscreen with connected car tech and more. There are some features shared between the two SUVs including a heads-up display, 360-degree camera, wireless charging and more. The difference lies in the fact that the Grand Vitara has a full panoramic sunroof vs a standard sunroof in the Brezza along with ventilated seats which the Grand Vitara gets. The Grand Vitara is also bigger and gets a longer wheelbase obviously for more room at the back though Brezza is also spacious.

In terms of engine options, both the Brezza and the Grand Vitara share the 1.5l mild hybrid engine with either a 6-speed automatic or a manual gearbox. However, the Grand Vitara meanwhile gets a strong hybrid powertrain too which has a 1.5l petrol and an electric motor along with the ability to drive in full electric only. The further change includes the Grand Vitara is available with an AWD system too with the mild hybrid engine.

The Brezza is cheaper and is a sub-compact SUV and the doubts are clear that the Grand Vitara is in a different segment with more features, a strong hybrid powertrain and being more premium. While the Brezza is priced between Rs 8-14 lakh, the Grand Vitara would be priced between Rs 10-18 or 19 lakh.
