The Eletre has been launched in India and it is the first Lotus car product offered to our market. Coming in CBU form, the Eletre is a dual-motor electric SUV that claims to be one of the fastest of its kind. The price of the Eletre starts from Rs 2.55 crore while the top-end R is priced at Rs 2.99 crore. If we talk about rivals then the Eletre competes with mostly petrol or hybrid SUVs.

The closest could be the flagship BMW XM which is also a very fast SUV. However, the XM from BMW uses a plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain which results in 653hp and 800Nm. The XM claims to do 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and can also run in pure EV mode. The Eletre on the other hand has a 603bhp dual motor system with a 600km range along with a 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds. The faster Eletre R does 0-100 km/h at a faster 2.97 seconds with over 900 bhp while the range dips below 500km at 490km. There are other performance SUVs too but not necessarily competing with the likes of the Lamborghini Urus which is the most popular super luxury SUV in India.

The Urus Performante has a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with 666bhp which means a 0-100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds. It is priced at Rs 4.2 crore.

Then there is also the Aston Martin DBX 707 which is also another flagship performance SUV. The 707 develops 707hp and 900Nm with a 0-100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds which is also faster than the DBX. It is priced at Rs 4.6 crore. Hence, buyers with deep pockets have a vast range of performance SUVs to choose from, V8 or hybrid, or electric!
