New Delhi: Land Rover has revealed its new Range Rover Sport SUV and it sits below the flagship Range Rover while being a sportier option (hence, being called 'Sport). The new model has been developed alongside the bigger Range Rover using the same platform along with being more flexible in being compatible with electrification.
A fully electric Range Rover Sport is coming but for now, the range consists of mild hybrid diesel and petrol engines along with a plug-in hybrid while a V8 petrol is also there for performance lovers.
The design maintains the overall look of the previous Range Rover Sport but gets a new sportier look thanks to slimmer headlamps and cleaner proportions along with including flush door handles. It is a big luxury SUV but has a slightly different look this time with the intention being in making it more dynamic over the bigger Range Rover.
The new Range Rover Sport gets air suspension plus a 48-volt electronic active roll control system while presence of all-wheel steering reduces the turning circle of the SUV.
An eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is standard too while Land Rover's Terrain Response 2 system gets more tech including Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control where the car maintains throttle at tricky conditions during off-roading.
The new Range Rover Sport is expected to be launched next year in India with the new Range Rover deliveries expected to begin in this year. At the start, expect diesel and petrol engines being on offer with the new Range Rover Sport.
