Kia has officially confirmed the name of its upcoming SUV and it is called the Syros in India. The Syros would be the Kia 2.0 SUV and is a sub compact SUV which will slot below the Seltos while being the second sub4m SUV by Kia. However, it will be different from the Sonet with a more radical look inspired by the EV9 along with being more spacious. The Syros design wise also looks different with a boxier look along with the vertical LED DRLs while it will have a raised roofline for maximum headroom too. Hence, despite being below 4m, the Syros would be much more spacious than the Sonet while could be comparable to the Seltos.
The interiors similarly would be different and would be similar to the EV9 with a clean minimalistic look while it would be feature loaded as the Sonet maybe also more than the Sonet. The steering wheel for example would be different and similar to the EV6 with a two spoke design. In terms of features, the Syros will come with a panoramic sunroof, cooled seats, possibly a powered handbrake, a dual zone climate control, a 360 degree camera, ADAS and more.
While it could share engines with the Sonet, the Syros would be a larger, more spacious sub 4m SUV with more rear seat space and practicality. In terms of the engines, the Syros could share the 1.0l turbo petrol available with the Sonet along with a diesel plus a naturally aspirated entry level engine. The Syros is expected to make its India debut at the 2025 Auto Expo with more details to be revealed soon.
