The Syros is the latest SUV from Kia but the positioning is interesting since it is placed between the Sonet and the Seltos while still being a sub 4m SUV. Kia is claiming that it offers the space of a bigger SUV while having the size of a sub 4m SUV. So, we must compare how the Syros stacks up against the Sonet and the Seltos.

Which Car Is Bigger?

Syros has a length of 3995mm which is the same as the Sonet while the Seltos has a length of 4365mm. The Syros is wider than the Sonet with a width of 1800 vs 1790 while the Seltos has the same width of 1800mm. The Syros also has a longer wheelbase than the Sonet at 2550mm vs 2500mm. The Seltos has a longer wheelbase of 2610mm.

Which Car Has More Power?

The Syros and Sonet share the 1.0l turbo petrol with 120 bhp and a 116bhp 1.5l diesel with DCT in the petrol and torque converter automatic in the diesel. However, unlike the Sonet, there is no 1.2l in the Syros. The Seltos has a lot more power at 160bhp with a 1.5l turbo petrol while it has a 1.5l diesel with the same 116bhp while having also a 115bhp 1.5 NA petrol. The Seltos has a DCT, CVT and a torque converter too.

Which Car Has More Features?

This is the part where the Syros gives tough competition to even the Seltos. The Syros has a pair of 12.3-inch displays while getting features such as panoramic sunroof, OTA updates, powered driver's seat, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated seats for two rows, rear seat recline function, powered hand brake, 360 degree camera, ADAS level 2, rear curtains etc. The Sonet has some features such as the 360 degree camera and it has a Bose audio system while getting a standard sunroof along with ADAS. It however misses out on some of the tech features, the dual row ventilated seats and more which the Syros offers. The bigger Seltos has ADAS, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch head-up display, electronic parking brake, Bose audio but the Syros again has the dual ventilated seats along with the second row recline plus OTA updates.

Where Will The Syros Fit In?

The Sonet starts at Rs 7.99 lakh while the Seltos starts at Rs 10.90 lakh. The Syros is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh given the turbo petrol as the starting engine plus the features on offer. The Syros has more features and space than the Sonet while the Seltos has more power while having the sportier looks. However, for space and features, the Syros could be the ideal Kia between these three.
