Kia will showcase the Syros on the 19th of this month and it will come standard with a 1.0l turbo petrol and a 1.5l diesel. It will occupy the sub 4m segment but would be bigger than the Sonet. The latest few teasers leading upto the reveal shows many new features. First of all, the Syros will get a panoramic sunroof and that means it would be the third sub 4m SUV to get this feature.
Then it will get a 360 degree camera, dual zone climate control and drive modes too along with terrain modes. Safety features will most likely include standard 6 airbags, ADAS and more. The Syros would be a more premium offering than the Sonet which explains the additional features.
Plus the tall boy stance means Kia will market it as a more spacious SUV with a greater focus on rear seat space- typically not the strong point of all sub 4m SUVs. While the tall boy design will mean more space, we can also expect reclining rear seats which would be a plus in this segment. But where will it slot in the crowded Kia SUV line-up?
The Syros could have more space than even the Seltos with its Wagon R like boxy design liberating interior room while there could be a flatter floor to sit three passengers at the rear. It remains to be seen whether the Syros would get three headrests at the rear. Pricing would be Rs 10 lakh plus expected for the Syros as it nears its debut in India on the 19th of this month.
