Kia has revealed the sketches of its next product the Carens and it shows many new things. First of all the Carens is not an MPV or sorts and via the sketches kind of looks like a combination of a three row crossover and an MPV.
The Carens is based on the Seltos platform but gets a different look via a new face. The LED headlamps, tiger face design plus the grille looks different than a Seltos.
The side view somewhat reminds you of the Seltos especially the lines towards the rear tail-lamp but the glasshouse and the roofline are changed for the third row addition. It does also get cladding and roof-rails along alloys of which we think they would be 18inch in size. The rear gets a new tail-lamp set-up and a connecting light bar with the design hiding the extended three row treatment very well.
It does not look like a stretched Seltos. The interior design looks like a traditional Kia design with the same steering wheel and the 10.25inch screen though the gear selector is different. The instrument cluster would be fully digital too along with usual features like connected car tech, sunroof, wireless charging and more.
There could be multiple versions with 6 or 7 seater lay-outs with added features for the second row passengers too. The Carens will get a 1.5l petrol and a diesel with automatic and manual both being offered. The car would be shown on the 16th of December at its world premiere.
