Kia has launched the Seltos and Sonet with more features and updates in India. The Seltos was the first product by Kia India while the Sonet has been the third launch with being its first subcompact SUV. Both SUVs are also the first Kia products to get the new corporate logo.


What is new with the Kia Seltos?




Let us first talk about the new Seltos as it gets as many as 17 updates. The first and most important thing is the addition of the iMT gearbox in the Seltos.

The Seltos now is the first SUV in its class to have the iMT or a type of manual gearbox which requires no use of the clutch. Hence, you have the control of a manual gearbox but without the need to use the clutch. The iMT is available with the 1.5 Petrol HTK+ variant. Next, the Seltos also gets paddle shifters. The paddle shifters are a crucial new addition that is there on both the diesel automatic and the turbo petrol auto. This is for the GTX+ trim.





More features with the Seltos now includes Smart Pure Air Purifier with ‘Virus and Bacteria’ Protection, Remote Engine Start in Manual transmission, Wireless Phone projection, Over the Air (OTA) map updates, Additional Voice Commands on UVO connected car system. In terms of safety, you have features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC) now added to the lower variants. Kia has added a new variant too with the Seltos with the 1.4T-GDI Petrol GTX (O). Prices start at  INR 9,95,000 (ex-showroom, pan-India)


What is new with the Sonet?




The Sonet like the Seltos also gets paddle shifters on its automatic variant with the 1.0 DCT turbo petrol. It also has 10 new features including  Rear Door Sunshade Curtains and Voice command for Sunroof Open & Close.




In terms of the feature spread, equipment like an Electric sunroof, Smart key with push-button start, Remote engine start, Chrome door handles and Crystal cut alloys are now given on lower variants along with safety features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC) being allocated to lower trims. Finally, the HTX trims would be available with the Sonet automatic trim- HTX 7DCT (1.0T-GDI Petrol) and HTX 6AT (1.5 Diesel). Prices start at Rs INR 6,79,000.
