Kia will launch both the Carnival and the EV9 on the 3rd of October while the EV9 would be its most expensive car till date in India. As we have said before the EV9 is expected to be priced at Rs 1 crore would be a CBU hence will attract duties in terms of its price-tag. However, like the EV6 we expect the EV9 to be available in limited numbers. The EV9 will come with a Digital Lighting pattern at the front and a blanked off grille with digital Tiger face. Elsewhere you get 20-inch alloys, automatic flush door handles and more. Inside, the EV9 will come with leatherette seats, a heads-up display, twin sunroofs, a digital key and even second row massage seats.
There is also a 3-zone climate control system offered on the EV9 as well along with a digital rear view mirror and a premium audio system with 14 speakers. The EV9 will have a column stalk shift by wire gear selector and being an EV it has a V2L feature too. Safety wise there are 10 airbags, ADAS and a 360 degree camera. There are two interior colours on offer- White and Black plus Brown and Black plus 5 exterior colours.
The EV9 has a 99.8 kwH battery pack with 561km ARAI range. As expected from an EV of this segment, the EV9 has a dual motor set-up with 385 PS and 700Nm. 0-100 km/h is 5.3 seconds. The EV9 is a large SUV with a length of 5015mm and a wheelbase of 3100mm. The EV9 would be a full size electric SUV while competing with German luxury cars at this price. Alongside the EV9, the new Carnival is also being launched on the 3rd of October.
