MG Astor Hybrid: Globally, the new facelifted hybrid version of the MG Astor has been revealed and interestingly it has a hybrid powertrain which would join the petrol as well as the EV. MG already sells the EV and the petrol but a hybrid would be interesting since there are not many options currently there in the market.

The MG Astor Hybrid+ would be a big launch and an important one for India if and when it comes. However JSW and MG Motor have in the past said that they are indeed looking at both EVs and hybrids too.

The new Astor also looks fresher with the updated new styling courtesy the new look front with the slimmer headlamps along with the two part grille.

There are large cuts on the bumpers and the slim headlamps also widen the look of the car. Elsewhere there would be new alloys while the side view would more or less remain the same. There are new tail-lamps and a new rear bumper too. This is a strong hybrid and hence, this could have a decent electric only range for a few kms while you can drive in EV mode too as you can with these hybrid cars.

As a result, the efficiency of the MG Astor Hybrid+ would be high and match the Hyryder hybrid and the Grand Vitara hybrid too. MG Motor will launch the Windsor now which is a pure EV and is a crossover with various features like a glass roof plus lounge-like seats along with other features. The MG Windsor would be revealed in a few days time and launched within the festive season while the pricing is expected to be sub 20 lakh.
