With the talk of 6 airbags being mandatory in all cars, Hyundai has launched the new Grand i10 Nios hatchback with more safety features. The talking point of the new Nios is that it gets 4 airbags as standard and 6 as optional. It also gets in total 30 new features including Cruise Control, LED Tail lamps, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (Highline), ESC, Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Child Seat Anchor (ISOFIX), Fast USB Charger [Type C] and more.
The new Grand i10 Nios also gets some styling tweaks with a refreshed front-end design, with an altered bumper design while the rear styling is also updated.
In terms of colour options, there are 6 Monotone Colour Options – Polar White, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver, Spark Green (New), Teal Blue and Fiery Red; as well as Dual Tone colour options to the new Grand i10 NIOS – Spark Green (New) with black roof and Polar White with black roof.
Engine options stay the same but there is no diesel now. The engine and gearbox options include the 1.2 l Kappa petrol with 5 speed manual transmission; 1.2 l Kappa petrol with AMT; and 1.2 l Kappa petrol with CNG which comes with 5 speed manual transmission.
With all cars expected to have more safety features as standard, the price is expected to go up while the updated Nios, for now at least, offers 6 airbags as an option while also offering more airbags as standard when compared to its direct rivals. The new Nios would be displayed at the Auto Expo 2023. The facelifted Nios is joined by the facelifted Aura compact sedan which also gets the same tweaks to its design and cabin plus more features.
