New Delhi: Hyundai has unveiled a new concept in Beijing and it is an off-road spec SUV which looks quite cool. It is based on the Mufasa compact SUV and is a concept for now. The design elements are off-road biased and comes with a rugged look.

The front especially has a massive X-shaped grille while the Adventure concept adds in rugged skid plates and a new bumper design. The side view reveals more with a mesh surround for the rear quarter and it is visibly much higher off the ground too with much more ground clearance. There is also a roof rack with LED lights at the top as well for a full off-road look.

The concept also wears chunky off-road spec tyres which helps in off-road along with adding to the look as well. The rear styling meanwhile gets bumper inserts as well and tow hooks for the full off-road look. The interior has not been revealed but would be expected to have off-road styling elements too.

The standard car has a four-spoke steering wheel and a large centre console while having a similar look to premium Hyundai models like the Sonata. There are premium features on board like a massive touchscreen and more while space is in plenty as well.

In China, the Mufasa gets a 2.0l naturally aspirated petrol unit while hybrid powertrain options will also follow soon.

Overall, this is an appealing concept and looks tough with these styling bits. Concepts like these show that Hyundai is also willing to do an off-road spec version of its SUVs for global markets and maybe an off-road version of the Creta could be a big success as well with off-road styling elements. It is certainly an appealing thought and one that Hyundai can possibly consider!
