Honda will be launching its Elevate on the 4th of September and this new compact SUV finally enters the market. The Elevate to recap is a made for India SUV and one that fills a big gap in the Honda product portfolio in terms of having a compact SUV. The Elevate will only come with a 1.5l petrol engine with a 6-speed manual as standard while a CVT automatic gearbox would be offered as an option. The CVT will also come with paddle shifters as well.

Elevate is based on the City platform but gets a different interior especially with a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen while only some bits like the steering wheel and the dials are kept the same as the City. The feature list includes ADAS features, lane-watch technology and connected car tech too. If you talk about the efficiency, the Elevate manual petrol delivers 15.31kmpl while the CVT is more efficient at 16.92 kmpl.

Where the Elevate scores more than rivals is the 220mm ground clearance which is the highest. The variant line-up includes the SV, V, VX and ZX trims. Honda has said that it will not launch the Elevate in a hybrid as instead it will bring an EV based on the Elevate within a few years time. Pricing is no doubt more crucial as this segment is quite crowded and hence, the Elevate needs to be priced well. We expect the Elevate to be priced at Rs 11 lakh starting which would be on-par rivals while the top-end needs to undercut other cars due to the lack of a turbo petrol or a diesel engine.
