Hero has updated its XPulse 200 4V for 2023 and that includes being OBD-II and E20 compliant. Yes, this adventure motorcycle comes with an E20-compliant engine that can run on an ethanol-blended gasoline mixture of up to 20%. The motorcycle brings the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD), a self-diagnostics system. The power is the same as the 200cc 4 Valve oil cooled BS-VI (OBD-II and E20 compliant) engine which develops a power output of 19.1 PS at 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 17.35 Nm at 6500 rpm.

The OBD-II device monitors the performance of the catalytic converter. However, what is new is the addition of three ABS modes that are suited for different riding conditions – Road, Off-road and Rally. Off-road mode reduces ABS intervention and that changes how the system intervenes for different modes. The default is road mode.

If we talk of other updates, the 2023 XPulse 200 4V now has a 60mm taller Rally-style windshield and a new LED Projector headlamp with LED DRLs and increased light intensity by 230%. Ergonomically there is an updated rider foot peg position which is lowered by 35mm and 8mm rear set.  Elsewhere there are bigger and closed loop type handguards, an updated luggage plate and the location of the  USB charging port is now relocated to the dashboard. There is also an extended gear lever and a longer side stand too.

Meanwhile, the Pro variant comes with a fully adjustable front suspension of 250mm and rear suspension of 220mm in XPulse 200 4V Pro Variant.

The motorcycle is priced at INR. 1,43,516/- (Base) and INR 1,50,891/ for the Pro. These updates make this value-for-money adventure tourer a better proposition while being more user-friendly. If you talk about colours, the options include Matte Nexus Blue, Techno Blue and Black Sports Red in the base variant while there are Rally Edition Graphics in the Pro variant
