The new generation Ford Endeavour has been spotted in India amid speculations that Ford is planning the return of its popular SUV.

The Endeavour is sold as Everest in some international markets like Thailand. The car spotted in India also bears the same nameplate.

The car could have been brought for testing purposes while Ford is indeed bringing back the SUV although how remains a mystery in the fact that whether Ford will bring it in CBU form or will assemble it.

Ford could bring the Endeavour and other products first as a CBU, as earlier reported and later assembled in India. With prices of the Fortuner- the arch rival of the Endeavour going over the Rs 50 lakh mark, the Endeavour in its new generation form will find takers even if it comes in CBU form.

The new generation Endeavour is much better equipped and looks more butch although with a premium look to it. The spotting of the car means that its debut is not far away and Ford can bring it as early as next year.

However, it is not just the Endeavour which has been spotted in India as recently the Ford Ranger was also spotted in the country suggesting that Ford could also be bringing its Hilux rival to India.

The Ranger is the pick up version of the Endeavour. If brought in via the CBU route, the new Endeavour is expected to command a hefty premium with an estimated price tag starting from Rs 60 lakh.

Ford is likely to bring in limited number of cars via the fully imported route to re-establish itself and then later get into the volumes games with the assembled version.
