Meet the electric Royal Enfield which will make its debut in a few days' time and yes it seems to be a sportier model from the manufacturer while focussing on range plus performance. Hence, the bike as seen here testing seems to be smaller than some of their other offerings and is more of a city friendly bike which is expected given the fact that its electric.

The LED headlamp and some other styling cues are like the other RE bikes but it is slimmer and more of a city slicker rather than being a cruiser. Compared to other RE bikes, this one seems to sport thinner tyres too and all that is in the interests of range. We can expect the range to be around 100-160 km and would be aimed as an EV alternative to its 350 cc smaller bikes.

Other details include the circular cluster, the low seat ride height and overall, it does look different from what we usually expect from a Royal Enfield.

The biggest talking point along with the EV powertrain and the range would be the price of course since electric means much more expensive than conventional motorcycles. We can expect the electric bike from RE to cost a fair bit more than their conventional motorcycles which could prove to be a hurdle.

That said, RE will equip this bike with more features from the go including ride modes, dual channel ABS and possibly disc brakes at both ends plus alloy wheels. Being the first electric bike from them, this could expand this space and while it will not be as efficient as some of their conventional ones, the electric bike could be a lifestyle offering. Also in the pipeline is an electric version of the Himalayan.
