The next product from Citroen in India targets the lucrative compact SUV segment and it aims to appeal to different segment of buyers with its multiple seating configurations. The C3 AirCross will sit above the C3 hatchback and will be positioned below the C5 AirCross which received a facelift recently.

The C3 AirCross will be positioned in the above-4 metres segment and target the likes of the Creta and the Seltos, while aiming at MPV buyers with the three-row seating layout. The design is expected to follow Citroen styling cues with a mix of the C5 and C3. To maximize headroom for all the rows, the roofline would be straight along with a boxy SUV look, while the wheels would be similar to the C5.

The C3 AirCross has been seen testing in India and will get the split grille and the aggressive headlamp treatment seen with both the C3 and the C5. The Citroen might make the cabin modular with individual seats for the second row like on the C5 too. We expect high equipment levels, considering it is for the compact SUV segment. Hence, we can expect features like automatic climate control, sunroof, connected car tech, and more. Most likely, it will be sharing the 10-inch touchscreen with the C3 hatchback.

The C3 Aircross would be petrol only at the start, with a turbo petrol unit being on offer with both manual and automatic options. Just like the C3 hatchback, the electric version of this SUV could come quickly, though for now, it would be petrol only.

Citroen would be looking to expand and increase volumes with the C3 Aircross positioned at the very important compact SUV space though there are a lot of rivals there, the unique styling and the seven-seater layout could be a talking point for car buyers.
