BYD entered India with the e6 MPV while its latest launch has been the Atto 3 SUV but it now wants to enter other segments while showcasing its Seal sedan at the 2023 Auto Expo. The BYD Seal is a luxury sedan that rivals the likes of the Tesla Model 3 and is one of its flagship sedans.

It is quite long and has a sleek shape which is quite aerodynamic too while it has a sloping roofline along with a four-door coupe shape. In terms of dimensions, the BYD Seal sedan has a length of 4,800 mm and a width of 1,875 mm.

The interior like the BYD Atto 3 has a rotating display and a large digital instrument cluster as well. The quality levels are quite high and also feature quirky detailing too along with a long equipment list.

If you look at the performance and range, there are no less than four variants with Standard, Long Range and Performance variants with dual-motor AWD on offer too.

There are two battery packs on offer with the range of the long-range version being an impressive 700km. With detailing as flush-fitting door handles, glass roof and multiple charging pads, the BYD Seal are pretty well equipped like the Atto 3.

The BYD Seal could be an interesting launch for India but the price remains the question of how premium can this sedan be.

The Atto 3 currently has no rivals with its size and segment but BYD also needs to increase its reach in India the Seal could be an interesting halo product for the Indian market where premium EVs are currently offered more over mass market ones with premium car buyers being early adopters.
