German auto company BMW has launched its 2021 BMW S 1000 R naked sports bike in India. The price of this powerful sports bike starts at Rs. 17.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). With its launch, the company has also started taking bookings. People interested in the model can book it at any BMW Motorrad India dealership across India.
Three Variants Launched
The 2021 BMW S 1000 R motorbike has been launched in three variants, Standard, Pro, and Pro M Sport. The standard variant costs Rs. 17.90 lakhs, while the Pro and Pro M Sport variants are priced at Rs. 19.7 lakhs and Rs. 22.50 lakhs respectively.
New Model Gets Flex Frame
The new chassis and frame of the 2021 BMW S 1000 R have significantly reduced the weight of the bike. They are much lighter than the previous model. The flex frame reduces the width of the bike. This will enable better performance and a comfortable ride.
Engine Packs A Punch
The 2021 BMW S 1000 R uses a Euro 5/BS6-compliant 999 cc in-line four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 165 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm of peak torque at 9,250 rpm. The company has paired this engine with a six-speed gearbox.
Features
The new S 1000 R comes with Dynamic Traction Control DTC, ABS Pro with banking angle optimization, and three riding modes, namely "Rain," "Road," and "Dynamic." The fully configurable "Dynamic Pro" mode is also available as part of the "Riding Mode Pro" option along with a series of setting options. Along with "Riding Mode Pro," the new S 1000 R also gets an "Engine Brake" function in combination with Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR) and "Power Wheelie" function. As part of the "Riding Mode Pro" option, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) supports the rider during emergency braking.
Competitors
The 2021 BMW S 1000 R will compete with motorcycles like Ducati Streetfighter V4 and Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS in India. These bikes have gained much appreciation from riders due to their performance. We'll have to wait and see how riding enthusiasts react to the 2021 BMW S 1000 R.
