Virat Kohli has been known to be a fan of Audi cars and not surprisingly, he owns many of them. His current choice is the Q8, which is a luxury SUV but he has had an R8 once collection too. However after driving it, we think the new S5 Sportback as seen here, might be the perfect fit for him in regards to the practicality and performance.

The S5 is not your usual sedan as instead it is a coupe which also has four doors. Hence it is sleeker and lower than most sedans plus the roof flows in nicely. As a result, it looks more stylish than a sedan while some nice details like the huge "single frame" grille along with intakes plus the silver accents on the side adds to the presence. As like any Audi the headlamps form a key part of the design and here there are Matrix LED lamps while even the tail-lamps are new.

Of course the wheels are also important for the stance and here the S5 has 19-inch alloy wheels which also enhances its muscularity. We must add that particular colour attracts a lot of attention and overall it screams a sports car look with less of a typical "sedan" vibe. Practicality also matters while the cabin of the S5 is simple but sporty along with being well executed. There is a lot of silver and grey for a deliberate "sporty" look while new to the S5 is a bigger touch screen which is intuitive to use.

There is also a fully digital instrument cluster that remains configurable in different ways. At this price, you expect luxury and the S5 has it all with a panoramic glass sunroof, heads-up display, 19 speaker and a 755W Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound system.

Our cricket captain will also like the power as while the S5 wears four doors, the performance is quick and more like a sports car. The engine makes 354 hp and 500 Nm of torque courtesy a 3.0-litre TFSI engine. As you might expect, the car goes upto triple digit speeds with ease and regardless of any gear or any speed, a mere flex of the accelerator pedal is enough to make the car overtake anything on the road. Adding to the performance is the Quattro all wheel drive as that gives it immense grip and the ability to put down all that power easily. You can enjoy the performance but without being too taxing. It also sounds nice in the sportier modes.

Key to the appeal of the S5 is also in the useability as the suspension is surprisingly tolerant of our roads despite being a bit on the stiffer side. Priced at INR 79 lakh, the S5 is expensive but makes better sense than any sports car since it has both the looks and the performance, along with some practicality. Overall, we think it would be a nice fit for our captain's garage!

What we like- Looks, performance, practicality

What we do not- Expensive
